Campaign visit privacy

Heatspot helps event organisers measure responses to their posters.

What a visit records

When you continue to an event, Heatspot records the QR code used, the time, a broad device category and approximate country, region or city when provided by the network. The application does not store your IP address or use advertising cookies to identify you. Infrastructure providers may process connection information to operate the service.

Optional location sharing

If an organiser enables location requests, you may choose to share your phone’s location. Your browser asks for permission. You can decline and still open the event. Coordinates are rounded to two decimal places, roughly 1 km, before storage. Maps show groups of at least three visits. Network-derived locations are less precise and may be far from your actual location. Heatspot does not follow your movements after your visit.

Retention and organiser access

Reports cover up to 90 days. Older records are removed in batches as the service receives new visits; deletion can be delayed during inactivity. Organisers can view aggregated reports for their own campaigns. A QR image or link can be shared, so a visit does not prove someone stood beside the physical poster.

Preview status

Heatspot is currently being prepared for launch. Before public campaigns begin, the operator must publish its business identity, privacy contact and applicable customer terms. No paid subscription is offered until payment setup is complete.
